Atmospheric creates world first “Carbon Neutral” tyre fire

Atmospheric, the advertising agency that’s no stranger to danger, has unveiled the world’s first carbon neutral tyre fire. From next Monday, consumers will be able to make online purchases of tyres whose carbon footprint has been entirely offset, even after burning.

“Even in the age of the climate emergency, we have to keep meeting our daily needs.” says Janine Freegle, Atmospheric's Head of Award Stunts. “People want to be able to keep warm and burn tyres without having an impact on the planet, and now, they can”.

The campaign launched with a display in Trafalgar Street that saw a huge, 40-foot tyre in the shape of a 0, ignited over the street. The emissions from the stunt will be paid off over several decades through tree planting, provided the trees aren’t cut down in the meantime, and assuming the trees wouldn’t have been planted anyway.

In the next phase of the campaign, Atmospheric plans to create an all-electric tree logger, and a bio-plastic industrial fishing net.
